Welcome

Raymond Tsai

Software Engineer · Computer Science & Software Engineering student at the University of Washington

“I build full-stack web apps, cloud data pipelines, and networked systems.”

About

I'm a Computer Science & Software Engineering student at the University of Washington, minoring in mathematics. This past summer I was a Platform Engineer Intern at Costco IT, where I owned an Azure data pipeline end to end: the Python ETL code, the Terraform infrastructure, and the CI/CD pipeline that ships it.

Outside of work I build full-stack products like Schedulux and compete in hackathons, most recently as a finalist at UWBHacks '26. I also spent two years as a Resident Assistant at UW Bothell. I speak English, Mandarin Chinese, and Japanese.

NowStudying Computer Science & Software Engineering at the University of Washington. Most recently a Platform Engineer Intern at Costco IT (summer 2026).

    • Report generation went from 40 minutes (sometimes up to 8 hours) of manual spreadsheet work to about 5 minutes.
    • Ran it as a cron-scheduled Azure Container Apps job with credentials in Azure Key Vault, using batched incremental loads, retries, and idempotent writes.
    • Provisioned the infrastructure with Terraform and automated build, test, and deployment with GitHub Actions.
